Giles Road Press, is looking for articles for inclusion in its monthly newsletter, Macintosh Tips & Tricks. This newsletter contains Macintosh product news and how-to articles to help readers increase their productivity. The goal of Macintosh Tips & Tricks is to distribute timely and useful news and productivity tips to Macintosh users.
How Macintosh Tips & Tricks is Distributed
Macintosh Tips & Tricks is published in two formats: as a printed document desktop published with QuarkXpress and as an electronic document created with DOCMaker.
The printed version is available by subscription for $11.95 per 12-issues. Single copies are available for $2.50 each. Corporate-sponsored issues are often distributed at user group meetings and MacWorld Expo.
The electronic version is available as shareware from online services such as America Online, CompuServe, and AppleLink and BBSs worldwide. Readers of the electronic version are asked to send feedback about the newsletter to Giles Road Press. The electronic version is also included on a number of Macintosh CD-ROM disks including AMUG's BBS in a Box and Metatec's Nautilus.
Estimated circulation is currently 10,000-15,000.
What We Need
Articles for Macintosh Tips & Tricks must fall into one of three categories to be considered for publication:
• Application How-To. Explain how to perform a specific task with a widely-used application. Provide numbered step by step instructions and screen illustrations in PICT or TIFF format. The acceptable length is no more than 500 words.
• Productivity Tip/Technique. Tell readers how they can work more efficiently or effectively with their Macs. Provide screen illustrations in PICT or TIFF format if applicable. The acceptable length is 250 to 500 words.
• Quick Tip. In 75 words or less, explain how to take advantage of a specific feature of a widely used application. Do not include any illustrations.

Payment
Payment for Application How-Tos and Productivity Tips/Techniques is a 12-issue subscription to Macintosh Tips & Tricks. Authors of these pieces also get a 50-word bio that can include anything the author wants to say about himself. (This is a good opportunity for writers and consultants to advertise their services.) Payment for Quick Tips is a copy of the issue the Tip appears in and a byline.
Rights
By submitting written work for possible inclusion in Macintosh Tips & Tricks, the author of the work grants Giles Road Press permissin to use the piece in any issue of Macintosh Tips & Tricks. The author retains copyright of the work and may publish it elsewhere. Each issue of Macintosh Tips & Tricks is copyrighted by Giles Road Press and the contributing authors.
